Teams/ Leagues

• Junior Team Tennis (JTT) league plays in spring (March-May) and fall (Sept-Nov); each season ends with a single elimination tournament run by the City.
• Teams are determined by the ages of the youth participating. Levels of play are 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U. Levels are determined by the following dates: spring–age as of 8/31 that year; fall–age as of 11/3 that year.
• There are sub-leagues within each age group – beginner, intermediate, etc. The SARC coach decides which level the group will play.
• Matches are all home or locally away. When home, each player is asked to provide a new can of age-appropriate balls (8U-red, 10U-orange, 12U-green dot, 14U/18U-yellow). Parents are responsible for all transportation of youth to/from matches. Youth should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of each match.

2024 Fall JTT Information

Experience requirements:

Players should be able to maintain a rally with Coach Shaun and serve on a semi-consistent basis. If your child isn’t quite there yet, it might be best to sign up for clinics only. For any inquiries about your child’s readiness for JTT, feel free to contact Coach Shaun.

Pricing:

Participating in a JTT team this year will cost $60 (non-members will need to pay an additional $25 non-member league fee to SARC). The cost of JTT will include coaching at all home matches (away games will be determined on location/timing of matches as many teams play back to back or simultaneously so home matches will get preference), lineups for all matches, and a t-shirt. This cost is in addition to any clinics you sign your child up for.

Payment for JTT can be made on the Springdale website once your team has been confirmed. Tori will email you once the team is confirmed and it is okay to pay the JTT dues.  Please do not pay for JTT until you have been told the team is confirmed. Again, this is separate from any clinics/lessons so please be sure to sign up/pay for clinics  – you do not need a team confirmation for the clinics.

Participation in weekly clinics/lessons is highly encouraged. Clinic information will be listed on the upcoming clinic schedule and through Springdale communications. For private lessons, please reach out to Shaun.

Those with 8u-aged children will note that there is no 8u option this year. This division has not had much interest from other clubs for this age group for the past few seasons. Springdale will still offer clinics for this age group for those wanting to learn and play tennis.

We encourage you to sign your child(ren) up for the clinics – it will be a great introduction and give them time to gain confidence and experience for the 10u team in the future.
